Richard Mueller, CPA CFA

Richard Mueller has a varied and extensive financial background. From 1997 to 2004 he served as CFO and Board Treasurer of The Classical Academy, the largest charter school in Colorado. During his term, Rick was instrumental in executing two public tax-exempt bond offerings, including at $40 million transaction in 2003, at that time the largest charter school bond issuance in the nation.

He founded an independent investment advisory firm, serving clients both in Colorado and throughout the country. His firm also manages a successful investment partnership that originated nearly 20 years ago.

Rick began his career as a CPA with a major public accounting firm, providing audit work for a number of Fortune 500 companies. He graduated from the University of Illinois with highest honors with a degree in Accountancy. After serving as CPA, he returned to earn an MBA from the University of Chicago, specializing in finance and international business.

After graduate school, Rick joined the research and investment firm, Duff & Phelps. He managed a research staff that conducted both equity and fixed income analysis and rose to become a Group Vice President. He also worked for First Chicago, now part of JP Morgan Chase, in the corporate planning group. He is both a CPA and CFA.
