Integrate – All Your Data Accessible from One Location

IT Service Management IntegrationThe integration between Cherwell and the external system is done at the database level. To qualify for integration the database must be SQL Server or have an OLE DB driver. Most of the major databases (Oracle, DB2, Access, etc.) have OLE DB drivers.

The integration is done using two simple wizards. The first wizard is used to set up a connection to the remote database. Then, a second wizard is used to create a Cherwell business object that maps to the external database table or view. The business object can be linked to the table in the external database or imported into the Cherwell database. If the business object is linked, the data in the external database can be updated from within Cherwell Service Management. This second wizard is run for each table/view that be used within Cherwell.

Once the external business objects are created they can be used within Cherwell like any other business object. The external data integrates so seamlessly that your users may never even realize that the data comes from another system.

Cherwell is raising the bar and setting new standards for great customer service. ~John Hendricks, City of Wichita, KS
